About the role

An HR Recruiter finds, attracts and hires the right people for a company. On a normal day a recruiter meets hiring managers to understand open roles, writes clear job descriptions, sources candidates on job boards and LinkedIn, screens resumes and runs phone screens, and schedules interviews with the hiring team.

Recruiters also manage the candidate experience from first contact to offer. They keep the applicant tracking system (ATS) up to date, share timely feedback, negotiate offers within budget, run background and reference checks, and hand new hires over to onboarding. Good recruiters treat candidates with respect even when the answer is no.

Modern recruiting is data-driven and fair. Recruiters track metrics such as time to fill, source of hire, pipeline conversion and offer acceptance rate, use structured interviews to reduce bias, follow labour and data privacy laws, and use AI tools carefully with human review.
