About the role

An SEO Specialist helps a website earn more useful visitors from search engines like Google and Bing, and increasingly from AI answers such as Google AI Overviews and chat assistants. Day to day, this means researching what people search for, checking that pages can be crawled and indexed, improving content so it truly answers the searcher's need, and working with developers to fix technical issues.

A typical week includes reviewing Google Search Console data, running a site crawl, writing briefs for writers, suggesting internal links, checking page speed and Core Web Vitals, and reporting results to managers or clients. Good SEO Specialists connect their work to business results like leads and sales, not only rankings.

Modern SEO is less about tricks and more about quality: helpful, people-first content, clear site structure, fast pages, trustworthy authors and earned links. Specialists must also stay current with search updates and avoid tactics that break search engine spam policies.
