mediumContent Writer interview question
How do you use AI writing tools in your work, and where do you draw the line?
What the interviewer wants to hear
- Use AI for research support, outlines, variations
- Human adds original insight and experience
- Fact-check all AI output
- Follow company policy and protect confidential data
- Edit for brand voice
Model answer
I use AI tools to speed up parts of the work: brainstorming angles, summarising long reports, suggesting outline options, and creating headline or meta description variations. I do not publish AI text without heavy editing. AI can sound confident and still be wrong, so I check every fact and statistic against original sources. The value I add is original insight: expert quotes, our own data, real examples and a consistent brand voice. I also follow company policy, so I never paste confidential client or product information into public tools. My rule is simple: AI can help me work faster, but I am responsible for every word that goes live.
