Our blog gets 100,000 visits a month but almost no leads. How would you diagnose and fix this?
What the interviewer wants to hear
- Check tracking is set up correctly first
- Analyse which topics drive traffic vs intent
- Review CTAs, offers and internal links
- Rebalance toward decision-stage content
- Test changes and measure
Model answer
First I would confirm tracking works, because sometimes forms are not firing conversion events in GA4 or the CRM. Next I would segment traffic by page and topic. Often most visits come from broad informational posts that attract people who will never buy. I would find the pages that do convert and learn from them. Then I would fix the path: add relevant CTAs that match each article, such as a checklist or template download instead of a hard demo request, and add internal links to product and comparison pages. I would also shift the calendar toward decision-stage topics like use cases and comparisons. I would test changes on the top 20 pages first, measure conversion rate for a month, then roll out what works.
