Model answer
I would respond quickly, acknowledge the problem and take ownership as the customer's single point of contact, even if other teams fix it. I would find out the business impact: who is affected, what is blocked and by when it must be solved. Internally, I would open an escalation with a clear summary, the impact, the account's value and the specific help needed, and make sure there is a named owner in support or engineering. I would agree an update schedule with the customer and stick to it, even when there is no news. Once resolved, I would share a root cause analysis and prevention steps, apply any SLA credits, and hold a follow-up with their leadership to rebuild confidence and check what else we can improve.
