About the role
A graphic designer communicates ideas visually. The work includes logos and brand identities, social media creatives, ads, packaging, brochures, presentations, signage and illustrations. The goal is always the same: get the right message to the right audience in a way that looks good and works in the real format.
A typical day mixes creative and practical work. You might read a client brief, sketch concepts, build layouts in Adobe or Figma tools, adapt one campaign into many sizes, prepare print-ready files, and present work to a client or art director. Much of the job is listening to feedback and turning vague requests into clear design decisions.
Strong graphic designers understand typography, colour, grids and hierarchy deeply. They also know production details like CMYK, bleed and file formats, follow brand guidelines, manage deadlines and use new tools, including generative AI, responsibly.
