Arrears after a backdated promotion
An employee is promoted effective 1 July: basic rises from ₹40,000 to ₹50,000, and HRA is 40% of basic. The change is processed in the September payroll with arrears for July and August. PF is on actual basic at 12%. What are the gross arrears and the employee PF on them?
